Your Credit Union

What is the Credit Union Difference?
Meridian Trust Belongs to You!

As a member of the Credit Union, you are an owner, not a customer.  A credit union is a cooperative, a not-for-profit institution, which is owned and controlled by its members.  A bank is a financial institution, which accepts deposits and makes loans for a profit.

Credit unions serve members in their field of membership stipulated in their charters, usually associations, employee groups, or communities.  Credit unions are organized to serve members by providing a safe, convenient place for members to save and obtain loans and credit at a reasonable rate.

The credit union difference is that its strength is its members.  When members use the credit union to conduct their financial business, they strengthen the cooperative.  All members benefit with higher rates of return on their savings and lower rates on their loans.
